The Power of an Idea

Our company’s founder, Claudia Martignani, has written a book (recently updated) chronicling the first 60 years of Martignani. From the initial idea to the company’s founding, its first partnerships, and the first sprayers sold… in this book, she discusses the reasons that led her to believe in a technology that no one knew about at the time and in which no one believed.

This book is very important to Martignani because it bears witness to our origins—to who we are and how we got here.

Below is a review—which is very meaningful to us—by Ravenna’s editorial director, Giulia Reina, of the book *La Forza di Un’Idea* by Claudio Martignani, Ph.D.:

“Dearest readers,

dear readers,

this is a book full of music.

As you read it, you’ll hear the music of misty droplets settling on the leaves… Leaves.

Vine leaves,

banana leaves,

leaves from fruit trees around the world.

Yes, because those tiny droplets that act as a shield for the fruits of plants are everywhere… In this travel journal, the founder recounts his journey through the world, science, and technology. Martignani’s machines are designed to PROTECT the fruits of our wonderful planet Earth, the blue planet.

You’ll be moved and inspired as you read it, and you’ll retrace the last 60 years of history in the Romagna region—a region rich in stories of down-to-earth yet visionary people.

Practicality, vision, and love: these are the elements needed to design machines and lead companies. A company that is now in the heart, mind, and actions of a son who “seems to be reliving my own childhood”—the founder’s childhood, filled with the smells and sounds of his father’s workshop.

It takes a great deal of humanity to design machines for people, in the service of people. A beautiful story—a beautiful story of humanity.

“Enjoy the read”

Instead, Mr. Maurizio Valer, from the Agriculture Department of the Province of Trento, wrote in the book that

“… I read it in one sitting and found it very interesting. The fact that you have

your extensive experience in planning, construction, and

commercial experience that you originated and developed is an extremely useful

for raising awareness and helping people understand that sound ideas must be taken

forward and developed even in the face of the difficulties that arise.”

along the route.

Personally, during the demonstration held

at Antonio Stelzer’s Maso Martis in Trento,

visualization using a UV lamp, I was able to verify the benefits in

in terms of uniform dye coverage and reduced drift.

Being able to see with my own eyes what had been claimed regarding the

advertising brochures helped raise awareness of the

effectiveness of the treatment technique using pneumatic nebulization

combined with electrostatic charge. In this regard, I suggest

that, in the event of a future edition of the book, a sidebar be included

that provides a more in-depth description of the electrostatic technique, with

with specific reference to the verification system using

a UV lamp….”
